ABOUT LIVE AFTER DEATH

Within the span of 3 years comedian Ben Wasserman lost his dad, granddad, uncle, and four friends. In Live After Death Ben blends comedy, clowning, and crowd work as he leads the audience on a hilarious yet moving journey through grief, honoring and celebrating the ones we've lost along the way. Expect vulnerable conversation, juggling, a seance, some dancing -- it’s part catharsis, part circus…total chaos!

◆◆◆

Live After Death (2021-2023) was performed for the last time in NYC with two shows at Green-Wood Cemetery after two years of monthly performances at Sparrow Funeral Home and Blair-Mazzarella Funeral Home in Brooklyn and on tour across the country at funeral homes, cemeteries, and other death-focused spaces. Consistently selling out, the show has been featured and recommended by NPR, The New York Times (twice), Paste Magazine, Huffington Post, Time Out NY, The Boston Globe, Chicago Reader, Philadelphia Weekly, Seven Days VT, The Toledo Blade, and Pittsburgh Union Progress (the strike paper of Pittsburgh Post-Gazette workers, solidarity forever!) and many more!

Additionally, Ben’s comedy about death has been covered by VICE, earned him a spot on Paste Magazine’s list of 10 Comedians Who Make Grief Funny, has been shared by The Dinner Party (a platform for grieving young adults to find community) and The Order of Good Death, and will be the subject of an episode of Death Differently, a docuseries highlighting the work of individuals innovating the death and dying space.
